Winter Weather Advisories have been put out for southern Mass. and northern CT due to the earlier than expected advancement of precipitation. Warm air advection has not yet been able to raise both surface and upper air temps above freezing even though the precipitation is falling.
The WWAs are calling for the possibility of 1'' snow/sleet and then an additional tenth of an inch of freezing rain before switching over to all rain. It could make some roads pretty slippery in these areas.
